LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:

We would like to acknowledge that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaw people. 

We would also like to acknowledge people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

Spirit Week

Today is our last day of Spirit Week. Thank you to everyone who showed their school spirit, creativity and enthusiasm throughout the week! And thank you to the organizers of Spirit week. It was fun filled and festive. 

Leadership

There will be a leadership meeting today in Mme Chiasson’s room at 11:35. Please bring your lunch.

Guessing Game to Support Local Food Bank

The leadership team is hosting a fun guessing game to support our local food bank, and we need your help! Can you guess how many colorful pom poms are in the jar? Stop by the front entrance today at lunch and take a guess for 50 cents. The student with the closest guess will win 10 cafeteria dollars! Let’s come together to make a difference while having fun! Bring your friends and show your support for the local food bank!

Elevator Keys

Please ensure that all elevator keys are returned by the end of the day.

Lost and Found

If you have lost items, please check out the lost and found rack across from the office.

Metro Transit

For students who take the metro transit bus at the end of the day, just a reminder that you are students of Astral Drive Junior High and you are still representing our school and community. Please refrain from throwing food on the bus and using loud, foul language. Other passengers are reporting this becoming a concern.  

Remembrance Day Ceremony

We are seeking a few students who are interested in reading a passage or serving as Master of Ceremonies for our Remembrance Day ceremony. If you would like to participate, please see Mr. Ouellette by the end of the week. 

We are also looking for cadets, scouts and girl guides who would like to participate in the Remembrance Day ceremony.  Please stop by the office to see Ms. Nash.
