ANNOUNCEMENTS: Thursday May 15, 2025: WEEK #1; CYCLE DAY D

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:

We would like to acknowledge that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaw people. 

We would also like to acknowledge people of African ancestry, whose histories and legacies have contributed to Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

Asian Heritage Month: Did you know that Asia has the highest mountain in the world.  Mount Everest is part of the Himalaya mountain range. The Himalayas are spread across five Asian countries; Bhutan, China, India, Nepal, and Pakistan.

Moose Hide Campaign: The Moose Hide Campaign is a grassroots movement of Indigenous and non - Indigenous men and boys who are standing up against violence towards women and children. Wearing the Moose Hide signifies your commitment to honour, respect and protect the women, and children in your life and while working together to end violence.

Black Excellence Day: Black Excellence Day is an opportunity to celebrate the joy, resilience, contributions, and achievements of Black People around the world. We want to honour the history and narratives of the past while uplifting and supporting the voices of our futures.

Gauss Math Contest: We would like to thank Ms. Choueiri for organizing the Gauss Math Contest and all the students who took part in writing yesterday this competition created by the University of Waterloo. 

Drama Club: The drama club will meet today after school in the library from 2:30 to 3:30. 

Leadership: There will be a leadership meeting tomorrow, May 16th, at 11:35 in Mme Chiasson’s room. Please bring your lunch.

Attention Astral Drive Junior High Looking for Volunteer Hours!

Astral Drive Elementary is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help out at their Annual Spring Fair on Saturday, June 7th. This is a fun way to earn volunteer hours and be part of a great community event.  Please sign up in the office if you're interested in helping out!
