Today we are recognizing Karl Francis - Williams, our ANS Support Worker.  He was born and raised in Sydney, NS.  He attended Sydney Academy and dropped out of High School to move to Halifax, NS, because he just wanted to play sports.  Karl was diagnosed with cancer in 2015 and it changed his life. After his treatments, he made some goals that he wanted to complete and on the top of that list was completing his grade 12 education.

He contacted the Bedford Sackville Learning Network and was enrolled in the program. He knew with schooling and working full time, it wasn't going to be easy, but he was dedicated.  In February 2018, he completed his GED and received his High school Diploma.  Karl was recognized in Province House, during Adult Learners week, in 2018 for his efforts of being a lifelong learner.  Karl shared that “It's never too late to fulfill your dreams and your desires in life and to be successful. To those who have doubts, don't doubt; you can do it, just try.”

Mr. Karl’s Facts:
