ANNOUNCEMENTS: Wednesday May 7, 2025: WEEK #2; CYCLE DAY C

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:

We would like to acknowledge that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaw people. 

We would also like to acknowledge people of African ancestry, whose histories and legacies have contributed to Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

Important Reminder -  Astral Drive is a SCENT FREE School. Students are not permitted to wear scents, bring scents to school or spray scents and school. 

A big congratulations are in order for our school Boys and Girls Flag football teams, who BOTH captured the HRCE Regional banners yesterday in convincing fashion. Both teams went undefeated this season, and Mr Carew, Mr Elliott and Coach Bush want to thank the players for the time they put into learning the sport, and a BIG congratulations to all of our grade 9 players! Great job Mustangs!

May is Asian Heritage Month - David Usher is a four-time Juno award-winning musician, author, activist, and entrepreneur. He achieved international recognition as the lead singer of a rock band. Usher is also the founder and CEO of an artificial intelligence studio based in Montréal. Usher was born in 1966 in Oxford, United Kingdom, to Thai and Canadian parents. At a young age, his parents moved to Kingston, Ontario. 

Cole Harbour Library: Join us at lunch in room 106 for library games! There are prizes and snacks :)

Track and Field: All Track and Field athletes need to submit their Athletic policy forms and Track Meet permission forms to Ms. Pushie in room 106. Forms due Friday May 9th, 2025.

Tunnel Vision Leadership is Back!

Students that are involved in this group, we will be meeting at lunch time 11:35, in Mr. Karl’s room 126. Bring Your lunch.

School snacks; snacks are available to students at the beginning of the day and during classes.  They  are not available during instructional time.

BAND:  congratulations to the grade 7 band on their beautiful Silver Standard performance yesterday!

Lunch rehearsal: Mrs. Oxford needs a break today, senior band is cancelled today. Regular rehearsals will resume on Tomorrow with Jazz Band at lunch time.
