ANNOUNCEMENTS: Tuesday May 6, 2025: WEEK #2; CYCLE DAY B

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:

We would like to acknowledge that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaw people. 

We would also like to acknowledge people of African ancestry, whose histories and legacies have contributed to Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

May is Asian Heritage Month - Over the last two centuries, immigrants have journeyed to Canada from East Asia, Southern Asia, Western, Central and Southeast Asia, bringing our society a rich cultural heritage representing many languages, ethnicities and religious traditions. The people of these diverse, vibrant and growing communities have contributed to every aspect of life in Canada — from the arts and science to sport, business and government.

Best Buddies: Please check the Best Buddies Google Classroom for an exciting scholarship opportunity.  The application is open until May 30.  Please see Mr. Tetford if you need further info or have questions. 

Boxing Event - Congratulations to Landon C. on winning his Boxing Match this past weekend! Great work Landon, congratulations.

Track and Field: There will be a final tryout for all boys jumping events and any athletes who were unable to attend last Thursday’s tryout TODAY at Beazley Field from 3-5pm. Athletes may also use the facilities to practice their events during this time.

All Track and Field athletes need to submit their Athletic policy forms to Ms. Pushie in room 106 or to the office before May 8th if you plan on attending. * Track Meet forms haven’t been passed out yet.

Cole Harbour Library: Join us at lunch in room 106 this Wednesday for library games! There are prizes and snacks :) Also join us tonight for Teen Night at Cole Harbour Public Library from 6-7:30 for a Trivia Competition! It is open to all junior high and high school students, it is totally free, there are snacks, and there are prizes. 

Tunnel Vision Leadership is Back!

Students that are involved in this group, we will be meeting Wednesday May 07 at lunch time 11:35, in Mr. Karl’s room 126. Bring Your lunch.
