ANNOUNCEMENTS: Tuesday, October 21st, 2025: WEEK #1, Day G

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:

We would like to acknowledge that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaw people. 

We would also like to acknowledge people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

Food & Hygiene Drive

Attention Mustangs! Our food drive is underway and will run until next Thursday, October 23rd. We’re collecting non-perishable food items and hygiene products to donate to a local food bank. Every contribution helps! The class that donates the most items will win a special prize!

Garbage Outside 

Please pick up your garbage and/or use the garbage cans outside to put your left over lunch food/containers. The grounds of the school and field are becoming cluttered with garbage.

Cross Country

Congratulations to Ellie, who attended the provincial cross country meet yesterday in Kentville. Ellie had a very strong race and finished 15th in the province running the 3km race in 13 minutes and 5 seconds. Well done!

Boys Volleyball

Reminder that there is a practice today after school from 2:30-4:30

Volleyball Tournament

October 21st and October 22nd there will be a volleyball tournament at lunch to raise money for the Food Bank. If you are interested in playing the cost is $1.00 and .50 to watch.

Boys soccer

Reminder that the boys will play their semi-final game against John Martin on Thursday at 5PM, at the fields behind MicMac Mall.

Remembrance Day Ceremony

If there are any members of cadets, guides or scouts who would like to take part in our Remembrance Day Ceremony please see Ms. Nash in the office.  

If you are interested in being an MC or reading a text during the Remembrance Day Ceremony please see Mr. Ouellette. 

Boys Washroom Vandalism 

Students, we’ve noticed some vandalism happening in the boys’ bathroom on the main floor. We will be keeping an eye on this. Please remember that our washrooms are shared spaces, which means a shared responsibility to keep them clean and respectful for everyone.

If you see something concerning, please let a staff member know. Let’s work together to take pride in our school and keep it a safe, welcoming place. 

Cole Harbour Library

Join us today for Teen Night at Cole Harbour Public Library from 6-7:30 to play Fear Factor Food! It is open to all junior high and high school students, it is totally free, and it’s all about snacks. 

Girls & Boys Volleyball

Your team fees are now due, please submit them via school cash.  Don’t miss out on your first game, make sure your fees are paid and your athletic policy has been turned in.

Best Buddies

Best Buddies meeting this Thursday in the Learning Center at lunch, all best buddies are required to attend, if you can’t please see Ms. MacQuarrie to let her know why.. Bring a snack, hangout and play games with the Best Buddies . NO best buddies gym third period today, this will be rescheduled :)

Friday Grind

Attention teachers, Friday Grind coffee will be moved to Thursday this week. Bring your $2 or $1.50 with your own mug provided for your choice of coffee or two and a snack.

Lost and Found

Please check out the lost and found across from the office for your items.  Items will be removed at the end of the day Thursday.
