African Heritage Month Fact of the Day -
Haitian-born Michaëlle Jean is the first African-Canadian to hold the position of Governor General of Canada, having been appointed by then-Prime Minister Paul Martin. Jean and her family immigrated to Canada in 1968 from Haiti and after she completed her studies in comparative literature at the Université de Montréal, she joined the university’s Department of Literature and Modern Languages, focusing on Italian. Jean also worked with shelters for abused women in Quebec for eight years and helped establish an emergency shelter network across Quebec and other parts of Canada. ⁠Jean eventually transitioned to journalism and quickly became a well-respected journalist before serving as the 27th Governor General of Canada. She held the position of Governor General from September 27, 2005, until September 30, 2010.⁠
Grade 9 Photos
Grade 9 Grad photos will take place this morning.  Lifetouch will provide the gown/sash/white dress shirt/tie.  If you have your own white-dress shirt/tie, please wear it.
Food drive

We are continuing to collect food donations for Feed NS until Friday. Please ensure items are within expiry date and in good condition.  The class that brings in the most will have a choice between a class in the gym and a pizza party!
Spirit week
Our Valentine's Spirit week continues today with silly socks and crocs day!
Tomorrow will be PJ day.
Leadership
There will be a leadership meeting tomorrow at lunch in Mme Chiasson’s room (137)
Dance
ADJH dance will be on Thursday, February 29th.  $6.00 fee can be paid via School Cash.

Drama Club
The drama club meeting today is cancelled.
Girls Basketball
The girls basketball team will have their final practice today from 3 to 4pm. Please remember to bring your jerseys.
