LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:
We would like to acknowledge that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaw people. The Treaties of Peace and Friendship cover this territory .
We recognize that African Nova Scotians are a distinct people whose histories, legacies and contributions have enriched Nova Scotia for over 400 years.
African Heritage Month Fact of the Day
The Greater Toronto Area in Ontario is home to approximately two-thirds of Canada’s West Indian population. To celebrate their common West Indian heritage, on July 28, 1967, Torontonians founded the Caribana cultural festival to display their rich cultural traditions in the spirit of other festivals celebrated throughout the Caribbean. Caribana continues to promote cultural pride, mutual respect and social unity to this day.

Cole Harbour Library
Join us tonight for Teen Night at Cole Harbour Public Library from 6-7:30 to learn to make African Paper Beads! It is open to grades 7 and up, it is totally free, and there are snacks.
