African Heritage Month Fact of the Day

Harriett Tubman, ardent abolitionist and heroine of the Underground railroad, died in New York in 1913.  As a conductor on the Underground Railroad, she made 19 secret trips to the American South and guided more than 300 slaves to freedom in Canada.

Teen Night - Paint Night
Come get creative!  Paint along with an instructional video for your very own paint night.  All skill levels welcome.  Snacks and drinks provided.
Takes place tonight from 6:00-7:30pm  Grade 7 and up.
Grade 9 Photos
Grade 9 Grad photos will take place this Thursday, Feb 15 (in the library – morning).  Lifetouch will provide the gown/sash/white-dress shirt/tie.  If you have your own white-dress shirt/tie, please wear it.  Students are asked to look at the grade 9 composites on the wall to see what previous students wore on their grad photo day.
Food drive

We are continuing to collect food donations for Feed NS until Friday. Please ensure items are within expiry date and in good condition.  The class that brings in the most will have a choice between a class in the gym and a pizza party!

Spirit week
Our Valentine's Spirit week continues today with neon day! 
Tomorrow we wear pink for Valentine’s Day
Thursday will be silly socks and crocs day
Friday will be PJ day
Candy grams
The leadership team will be selling Candy grams at lunch today in the front foyer. 50 cents for one and 3 for a dollar! Candy grams will be distributed to students on Wednesday for Valentine’s day.
Cheerleading
Cheer practice will be Tuesday, 4pm-6pm.  Theme is pink and red.
Dance
ADJH dance will be on Thursday, February 29th.  $6.00 fee can be paid via School Cash.
Lunch Band
Lunch band for today has been cancelled as Ms. Oxford is not in today.
