"Mi'kmaw Elder George Paul is the well-known composer of the Mi'kmaq Honor Song. He says that the spirits of his ancestors and profound sadness were his inspiration to create the song. Translated loosely to English the honor song means..

Let us honor the people that we are
My people, let us come together
Let us honor our ancestry, our bloodlines
My people, let us help one another
Let us help one another in the manner that the creator has placed us here upon Mother Earth

Fall Food Drive
The Astral Drive students have always been very generous in giving back to the community. We look forward to demonstrating this giving spirit with our first fundraiser of the year. Our fall food drive begins today and will run until Friday November 3rd. Each homeroom class is encouraged to bring in non-perishable food items in order to help support those in need in our community. Items such as rice, cereal, canned goods, pasta, pasta sauce and baby food are the most needed. The class who brings in the most food items at each grade level will have an extra class in the gym.
