Did you know?

Oral traditions are the backbone of Indigenous knowledge transfer and storytelling is the method by which much is shared. Storytelling serves to connect individuals and communities to their place and time as well as each other. Stories are also used to teach history, cultural etiquette, and spiritual beliefs.

Bus Evacuations

There will be bus evacuations for all students tomorrow beginning at 9:30 am and ending at 11am.  Students will be called down by homeroom pairs but not necessarily in order as there are only so many seats on each bus. We will begin with the grade 7s and work our way up through the grade 9s.  A schedule will be sent out to teachers later today.

Library Club

Today is the day that the Library Club will be selling Halloween themed treats in the foyer at lunch time.  Bring your change and your appetite for some creepy treats!
Girls Volleyball
The girls volleyball team will practice on Wednesday after school at 2:30.  We will also be participating in the Dartmouth Spartans Jr. Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

Cross Country
Congratulations to Tim Delong who placed 10th in yesterday’s wet, muddy & cold Provincial Cross Country Meet in Cheticamp, Cape Breton. Way to go Tim!
Cole Harbour Library
Get in the Hallowe’en spirit with a couple of creepy crafts! Who hasn’t wanted to write a note by cutting out letters from magazines? And who hasn’t longed for a little voodoo friend with evil intentions? ‘Tis the season! Takes place today - 6:00-7:30pm Grades 7 and up.

Fall Food Drive
Our fall food drive has begun and will run until Friday November 3rd. Each homeroom class is encouraged to bring in non-perishable food items in order to help support those in need in our community. Items such as rice, cereal, canned goods, pasta, pasta sauce and baby food are the most needed. The class who brings in the most food items at each grade level will have an extra class in the gym.

Best Buddies

Best Buddies will meet Thursday at lunch in the learning centre!

Drama Club

Any students planning to attend the drama event this Wednesday night need to stop by Ms. McCoombs’ room 206 at the beginning of lunch or after school today.
