…in Mi'kmaw culture, knowledge was/is disclosed and shared with the specific purpose of teaching the individual to live in harmony with Mother Earth and how to behave as a sacred being living among other sacred beings. Mi'kmaw Ways of Being and Knowing reflects knowledge and teachings gifted through our Ancestors.

SCHOOL DANCE
Our October school dance was last night and a good time was had by all.  I just want to thank those staff members who volunteered their time and making it a great night.  It is greatly appreciated.

Leadership

There will be a leadership meeting today, October 20th, at 11:35 in Mme Chiasson’s room. Please bring your lunch.

The Astral Drive students have always been very generous in giving back to the community. We look forward to demonstrating this giving spirit with our first fundraiser of the year. Our fall food drive will begin this Monday, October 23rd and run until Friday November 3rd. Each homeroom class is encouraged to bring in non-perishable food items in order to help support those in need in our community. Items such as rice, cereal, canned goods, pasta, pasta sauce and baby food are the most needed. The class who brings in the most food items at each grade level will have an extra class in the gym.

Best Buddies

Best Buddies will meet Thursday at lunch in the learning centre.

Cole Harbour Library
Cole Harbour Public Library is hosting a free makerspace program this Saturday from 2:30-4:00pm. It is open to everyone and you'll be making colour-changing magic potions!

Library Club

Posters are now up around the school advertising the Halloween Bake Sale happening this coming Tuesday.  Be sure to stop by for a ghoulish treat!  All proceeds go to Library Club funds for prizes.  Halloween week begins Monday, so be sure to stop by at lunch time.

Boys soccer
There will be a meeting for the boys soccer team on Monday at 11:35 in Ms Little’s room 165. All members must attend.
