Did you know?


The first recording of Mi’kmaq playing a stick and puck game, on ice, with bone made skates was in 1749. With a similar game played on the field during warmer months.
This game was played by the Mi'kmaq before the first settler recording in 1749.
Not only were Mi’kmaq good at the sport, they became one of the main suppliers of hockey sticks across North America.

Bake Sale

There will be a bake sale in support of the girls volleyball teams at lunch today.  Don’t forget to bring your change!

Girls Volleyball

The girls volleyball teams will practise at 2:30 after school on Monday and Wednesday of next week.

Girls Soccer

The girls soccer team played Caledonia on Wednesday in the semi final match. They played a fantastic game, winning 10 - 0. The following girls scored

The girls soccer team’s next game will be Monday, October 16th at 4pm.  It will take place at Harbour East.

Cross Country

A big congratulations is in order for all athletes who participated in yesterday’s cross country Regional meet! Students represented the school with pride and were positive supporters of all runners in each race. Well done! A special mention goes to the Junior Girls team who qualified 4th to advance to Provincials, as well as Tim Delong who ran a blazing fast 4km in 14mins 7 seconds to place 4th in the intermediate boys race and also qualified for provincials.


Attending Athletic Events at Auburn
Any Junior High Student that wants to attend an Auburn Athletic Event, including Football, must have a parent/adult chaperone or present ID at arrival.  Student ID’s are acceptable.

Cole Harbour Libbrary
Plump Little Pumpkins Teen Nights: Learn to sew the most preciously plump pumpkins you ever did see. You don’t need any sewing skills, this project is super quick and easy. And cute. So flipping cute! Tuesday, October 17 | 6:00-7:30pm Grades 7 and up.

SCHOOL DANCE
School Dance is Thursday, October 19th.  Tickets can be purchased via School Cash Online up to and including noon – October 17th.  Cost is $6.  Tickets will not be sold at the door.  Dance is from 6:30-8:30pm.


Canteen
Just a reminder to staff and students that the canteen will be closed for lunch today.
