LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:

We recognize that African Nova Scotians are a distinct people whose histories, legacies and contributions have enriched Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

African Heritage Month Fact of the Day
During the 1940s and 1950s, Dr. William Pearly Oliver and his wife, Pearleen Borden Oliver, were known as a unifying force within the local Black community. Dr. Oliver established the Nova Scotia Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NSAACP) and was recognized for these contributions by receiving the Order of Canada in 1984. Similarly, Pearleen was bestowed with an Honourary Doctorate from Saint Mary’s University in 1990.

Badminton tryouts:
Grade 7-8 girls today at lunch.
Grade 9 girls and boys Wednesday after school and Thursday and Friday at lunch.

Dance

Our next ADJH dance will be this Thursday, February 29th from 6:30 to 8:30pm.  $6.00 admission can be paid via School Cash. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Cole Harbour Library
Join us tonight for Teen Night at Cole Harbour Public Library from 6-7:30 to try “Miracle Berries” that make sour things taste sweet! It is open to all junior high and high school students, it is totally free, and there are snacks.
