Mi’kmaq History Month

October 1st marked the beginning of Mi’kmaq History Month.
In 1993, Premier John Savage and Mi’kmaw Grand Chief Ben Sylliboy declared October as the official month to recognize and celebrate Mi’kmaw culture and heritage. Mi’kmaq History Month is celebrating its 30-year anniversary in 2023 and all are invited to join in the celebration of Mi’kmaq culture and heritage. Each October, community activities, events, sharing and showcasing Mi’kmaw history take place across Nova Scotia. Everyone is encouraged and welcome to participate in Mi’kmaq History Month events.

Girls Soccer
Soccer fees are due October 2nd.This can be paid online through School Cash. 

Cross Country Regionals Meet
All cross country permission forms and fees are due in to Mrs. Carter by Wednesday October 4th at 4pm. Any athlete that does not submit forms and fees by then will NOT be permitted to attend the Regional Meet on October 12th.

Terry Fox Walk

This Thursday, we will be participating in our annual Terry Fox Walk. Please do your best to help fundraise to reach our school goal of $1000 in support of cancer research. All donations must be made online. Thank you for your support.

Teen Nights at CHP library
Teen nights  are every Tuesday from 6-7:30pm. These are open to anyone in grades 7-12.  October 3: Saw Escape Room
Celebrate the release of Saw X with an escape room based on the classic horror film. You have 60 minutes to escape one of Jigsaw's toughest puzzles - can you make it out alive?
Let the game begin.  There will be 2 sessions 4:00pm-5:00pm or 6:00pm-7:00pm.
Registration is required for this event.

Best Buddies
Any grade 9s interested in being a best buddy, applications are due by Wednesday at 2:30!

Boys Soccer
Your participant’s fee is due on October 3rd for soccer.  This can be paid through school cash.
Reminder of the game tomorrow at 3:45 on the Montebello field. Be there no later than 3:15.

Library Club

The Library Club is meeting today after school.  Please see Ms. Demers if you cannot make it.

Drama Club
Attention all actors, improvisers, directors, and playwrights! The first drama club meeting will take place this Thursday after school in the library from 2:30 to 3:30.

The Girls Volleyball Competition and Training Teams are now posted outside of the gym.  Our first practise will take place Wednesday at 2:30
