LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:
We would like to acknowledge that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaw people. The Treaties of Peace and Friendship cover this territory .

We recognize that African Nova Scotians are a distinct people whose histories, legacies and contributions have enriched Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

School Dance

Our last school dance of the year will be held on June 6th, 6:30-8:30pm.  This dance will be for grades 7, 8 and our grade 6 friends who will be joining ADJH in September.  Dance fee of $6.00 and can be paid via School Cash.

Football
The 2023 D-1 Provincial Football Champs invite you to their registration for the 2024 football season. Thursday, June 6 from 530 to 730 at Auburn High School.
Coaches and staff will be there to answer any questions. All grade 9 students wanting to play this fall are invited to come register.

Library Club
The annual Summer Book Sale is happening in the Library this week.  Stop by to get books as low as 5 cents!  There are plenty of categories from fiction to animals to sports.  Good for reading on the beach!

A reminder message and request to staff and students.  Our caretaker has been finding rocks in the doors of the building throughout the day.  Please, DO NOT put rocks in the doors to keep them open as it is a security risk. HRCE schools need to be secure buildings to ensure everyone’s safety. Again, please do not put rocks in the doors to prop them open.

Track and Field
Congratulations to all athletes who competed in this weekend’s Track and Field Provincial meet. Well done to all athletes who battled challenging conditions and represented Astral well! Special congratulations to Owen Jewer who came 3rd in the 100m, and Tim Delong who WON the 800m. All athletes are reminded to return their singlets and track spikes to the gym ASAP.
