SCHOOL YARD CLEAN UP
Thank you to students who participated in the school yard clean up yesterday! Everyone did so well. Students picked up 1500-2000 pieces of litter in one hour!!!! Likely the equivalent of 2-3 bags full.
SCHOOL DANCE
The next school dance is Thursday, June 1st. Due to fire regulations and our grade 9 students have their year-end event June 19th; the dance is for our grade 7 & 8 students only, as well as grade 6 students from our feeder elementary schools. The cost of the dance is $5; we are asking for food bank donations, if possible (community food banks thank you, in advance). Please pay for your ticket via SchoolCash Online. Tickets can be purchased up to and including June 1st at noon.
GIRLS’ SOFTBALL TRYOUT
Girls’ softball tryout will take place next Wednesday, May 24th after school until 4:30pm.
GRADE 9 HARBOUR CRUISE
Grade 9 students who want to attend the Boat Cruise June 19th, please pay for your TICKET via SchoolCash Online. Cost is $42. Payment can made up to and including June 2, 2023.
REGIONALS – TRACK & FIELD
Students participating in Regionals next week are asked to pay the $10 fee via SchoolCash Online before Wednesday, May 24th.
LEADERSHIP
There is a leadership meeting today at lunch for all leadership students and any grade 8 students interested in being in leadership next year. The meeting will take place in the learning centre.
TEEN NIGHTS’ COLE HARBOUR LIBRARY from 6:00-7:30pm (grades 7 & up)
Tuesday nights are Teen Nights at Cole Harbour Public Library. They run from 6-7:30 every Tuesday and they're open to anyone in grades 7 and up. They do a different activity each week, it is always free, and there are snacks. Please note the following May events:

May 30: Natural Watercolours with WILD Outside
Sundays, at the Cole Harbour Library, from 2:00-4:30pm - TABLETOP TEEN DROP-IN: On Sunday afternoons, the Program Room becomes a teen gaming hub where you can meet other players and start new games. Join a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, test your best Magic: The Gathering deck, or play any board game from their huge collection. Please bring your own decks, dice, rule books, etc. Curious about these games, but don’t know where to start? It’s perfect for you too! Just drop in and try it out. Only students who have signed up for movie club can come to movie club? If you want to sign up, you have to let Ms. McNeil know beforehand.
CHESS CLUB
The Chess Club will take place every Thursday at lunch in Mr. Nagle’s room 111. If you know how to play or want to learn how to play, feel free to come check it out tomorrow.
GUIDANCE NEWS
Every Thursday at lunch come over to the guidance room to relax at the Don’t You Worry Club! All students are welcome! This club is for students with a lot of stress and anxiety and/or students who would like to learn more about such things. Come and share strategies with others, so that everyone can benefit! It is a worry-free place to be!
