Colby Village Elementary School

The Colby Village Elementary School Spring Fair is taking place on Saturday, May 25th from 11 am - 2 pm. Their gymnasium will be full of games and they’d love your help to run them!
Please sign up on the sign-up sheet at the main office and include your contact info (email or text).

Track and Field:
Congratulations to ALL athletes who participated in the past 2 days of the county track and field meet. All athletes represented Astral with pride. Special congratulations to the Junior Boys Team who took home the Banner for top points scored over the event. We had over 30 athletes qualify and advance to the regional meet next week. There will be a list of qualifying athletes posted to the board by the gym doors this morning. Students who qualified must attend a mandatory meeting at lunch today to pick up permission forms for next week’s events.

Leadership
There will be a leadership meeting today at 11:35 in Mme Chiasson’s room. Please bring your lunch.

School Supplies Drive
Do you keep forgetting school supplies or keep running out? We do, too. That is why the class of 906 is running a school supply drive! On Friday, May 17th a box will be placed in your homeroom for new supplies such as, looseleaf, pencils, erasers, etc. and the class with the most amount of supplies by May 24th will win a free gym class!

IWK Fundraiser

For several years now, the Astral Drive Junior High community has been very generous in donating to the IWK Health Centre through many fundraisers. The IWK is an important place in our province that provides care and support to countless women, children, youth and families. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the IWK Telethon and as a school, our goal is to raise $2000. On Friday, May 24th, the leadership team will be hosting a barbecue at lunchtime and all the proceeds will be donated to the IWK. Hotdogs, drinks and jumbo freezies will be for sale. Check out the posters next week on the first floor for details.

Boys Softball
There will be boys softball tryout on Tuesday and Thursday of next week from 4:15-5:30.
