EARLY SCHOOL CLOSURE OR BUS CANCELLATION: SEVERE WEATHER OR EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES

The Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) takes great care when making the decision to alter the normal operations of schools in the event of severe or inclement weather. Decisions on school closures and/or bus cancellations are posted on the HRCE’s website at https://www.hrce.ca/, on Twitter @HRCE_NS, recorded on 464-INFO (4636) and communicated to all local radio stations. You can also receive notice of school and bus cancellations by e-mail or text message by following the link on the front page (left side) of the HRCE website. If you are

MASKS-SANITIZER-SOCIAL DISTANCING – REMINDERS

Just a reminder to students to please remember to wear/bring your (A) school-provided mask or (B) your own mask to school.  Also, (1) when you enter the building to sanitize your hands (2) walking through the halls in single file/social distance and (3) bring your water bottle to school.

BREAKFAST BINS
Breakfast bins, which are located at the front of each classroom or on the teachers’ desks, are filled with snacks for students to take if you are hungry! Students are asked to please not touch all the items in the bin; just take the item you want without touching the others!  Thank you! 

LIFETOUCH – STUDENT PHOTOS
Student Photos (proofs) and student ID cards have arrived.  Your homeroom teacher will be distributing them within the next few days.  If you would like to place an order, please order online at mylifetouch.ca or send your paper order form to the school.

REMINDERS
1. Students are not permitted to feed the birds (seagulls) because they are making a mess all over the school grounds, parking lot and vehicles; it is also not healthy for the birds! Please place you unwanted food back in your lunch bag; do not drop in on the ground!
2. Students are also not permitted to throw balls, for example - footballs, in the parking lot near vehicles. Please use  the field on the Astral side of the school.

LUNCH TIME
Before students are dismissed for lunch, please remove all items off your desks so they can be cleaned during the lunch break.

COMMUNITY NEWS – COLE HARBOUR PUBLIC LIBRARY - Teen Night: New Beginnings
It has been a very strange year so far but we are inviting you back to the Library for some small, in-person Teen Nights.  On specific Thursday's, after the Library closes, we will:
Create art together, board and video game duels, watch movies & so much more
