LIBRARY CLUB
The Library Club will be meeting today after school.

CROSS COUNTRY
Congratulations to all Astral Drive cross country runners who participated in the district meet yesterday at Shubie Park.  Our 23 runners represented the school very well, and had some excellent results.  Lia Wiestra in grade seven raced to a bronze medal in the Junior Girls race, and our intermediate girls had a very strong showing with Astral runners finishing 1st, 3rd, 4th,5th,and 6th in the race.  Led by Olivai Turner's gold medal run and Faith Anderson, who earned a bronze medal for her 3rd place finish, our intermediate girls took home the Akerley District banner.  Great Job to everyone, and keep practicing for the next meet on Oct 17th.

GUIDANCE

1)  Mrs. Greer's Movie Club is on again:  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday’s at lunch in Guidance!
20 is the maximum capacity; so come on out with your lunch and enjoy!

2) Calling all girls!  Grade 8 and 9 girls are invited to come out today - Friday at lunch in Guidance for our Girl's group!
We will be discussing topics, building great friendships and having fun.   Bring your lunch and see you there!

3)  Teachers - our Organizational Club is starting next Monday, October 7th from 10:45-11:45am.  Please refer students to me who you feel would benefit from explicit teaching, strategies and help with staying organized.   Students feel free to come to Guidance before Friday this week to refer yourselves if you would like time for organizational help as well.

IMMUNIZATION FORMS
Could any grade 7 students who have his/her immunizations forms with them today, please bring them to the office.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL
Boys’ volleyball sign-up sheets are outside the gym!  All interested athletes should sign up before Tuesday’s tryout.

Students are reminded to use the garbage cans placed outside the building to put your garbage in!
